Packing for Wellness: My Must-Have Travel Essentials

IAs a holistic practitioner, I’ve realised the importance of staying well while traveling around and out of routine, especially for my upcoming trip to Bali. Whether it’s a professional trip or a personal getaway, I’ve come to appreciate the value of packing thoughtfully, ensuring I have all my health necessities covered and a few familiar comforts from home. When it comes to packing, I often find myself oscillating between an Arsenicum and Aconite state of mind! The fear of forgetting something important causes me to over-pack and feel slightly anxious. There’s a certain level of comfort in having all my belongings on holiday, even if I only ever use a third of them.

It goes without saying that I always pack the standard travel essentials: swimsuits, sandals, and plenty of underwear! Take a look at the 14 must-have items in my suitcase that help me stay balanced, healthy, and feeling great while traveling.

1. Homeopathic Kit: A compact lifesaver for various travel-related ailments. For my upcoming trip to Bali, I’ll be packing important remedies like Veratrum album, China, Baptisia, and Crotalus Horridus, which are crucial for addressing symptoms of diseases such as Dengue, Malaria, and Cholera. While I don’t anticipate needing them, it’s still wise to be prepared.

2. Tui Balm Bug Extreme Repellent Spray: This natural, DEET-free spray offers excellent protection against insects, with java citronella grass as its main active ingredient.

3. Magnesium Oil Spray: Maintaining my body’s magnesium levels is vital, not only due to the strain from travel and sun exposure but also because of a magnesium deficiency I’m currently addressing, indicated by symptoms such as red ears, milia spots, and a persistently twitching eyeball. I’ve found that topical magnesium is more beneficial than pills and lacks the unpleasant potential side effects.

4. Electrolytes & Mineral Drops: I stay hydrated and ensure I get essential minerals, especially when my diet changes. BioTrace electrolytes and ionic minerals are my go-to brands.

5. Individualized Tissue Salt Combination: Using micro-nutrient facial analysis and kinesiology, I’ve created a personally tailored tissue salt combination to support my health and a smoother, less aged complexion.

6. Jade Gua Sha/Roller: For facial massage, rejuvenation, and lymphatic drainage.

7. Homemade Night Skin Serum: A blend of prickly pear oil, organic castor oil, apricot seed oil, frankincense, and myrrh essential oils. This serum is my staple for hydration, rejuvenation, diminishing dark circles, and preserving a radiant complexion for my 40+ skin.

8. Ozonated Olive Oil: A versatile healing aid for skin issues, perfect for treating infections and accelerating skin repair.

9. Ozone Water Pen: Although we may be drinking bottled water, this pen is handy for purifying water on the go.

10. Earth Kitchen Natural Sun cream: While I prefer covering up and avoiding sunscreen, this SPF 50 sun cream is my choice when needed, thanks to its delicate, natural ingredients.

11. Glycolic Acid: My secret weapon against body odor. It exfoliates dead skin and, when used on underarms, helps keep me fresh longer than regular deodorants.

12. Natural Deodorant: Made with tallow and ozonated olive oil, this DIY deodorant works well without irritating my skin.

13. Aleph Natural Light Wear Make-up: Minimalist and natural, this makeup line fits easily in my bag and is free from harmful ingredients.

14. Charcoal Caps: Activated charcoal is my gastrointestinal friend, binding to toxins and helping remove them from the body if I am to run into any unwanted health incidents.

These items reflect my commitment to a natural & holistic lifestyle, even when I’m far from home. Carrying these essentials while traveling provides me with peace of mind, ensuring I’m ready for any eventuality my travels may present. It’s not merely about preventing sickness; it’s about flourishing and maintaining my well-being, regardless of my location.
